Fallen leaves

Tearless adieu by boughs

Wet winds that did not grieve

As they softly fell in puddles

For it was time to leave

They had fluttered and swayed

Whispered to birds that flitted around

Some held on to trees longer

Some just fell to the ground

 Yellow , red and brown

In all colours I did see

Fallen leaves in silence

Said so much to me

— Fallen leaves from today’s walk

  1. What a beautiful poem and photographs to match – quite exquisite! Your poem made me think of this song by George Benson. Maybe also that we hold on quite often to things that don’t serve us rather than letting go and having new things come in. Awesome! Lots of hugs! Chevvy

    Everything must change
    Nothing stays the same
    Everyone must change
    No one stays the same

    The young become the old
    And mysteries do unfold
Cause that’s the way of time
Nothing and no one goes unchanged

There are not many things in life
    You can be sure of
Except rain comes from the clouds
    Sun lights up the sky

    And hummingbirds do fly
    Winter turns to spring
    A wounded heart will heal
    But never much too soon

    Yes everything must change
    The young become the old
    And mysteries do unfold
Cause that’s the way of time
    Nothing and…

    1. Thank you for this lovely comment , Chev. I had never heard of this song and am glad you shared the lyrics with me . It’s true , if I dont open up my fist to let go of things , I can’t grasp the wonderful things and moments that are to come . I have been struglling with letting go , infact , it’s been like that all my life , but the past two months have been baby steps in that direction, a start atleast . Thank you for being a friend 🙂 Warm hugs.

      1. I might be in a similar place as you actually – just different circumstances. I’m hoping not to do too much blogging this week so that I can think and plan around my next steps. As you say, it is sometimes about breaking down the big hairy goals into smaller steps. I’m at a point of redefining the next phase of my life and big changes can be scary even prone to depression sometimes. But I’m feeling good today and I’m sharing this song with you😀

      2. Thanks Chevvy 🙂 For sharing and for the song . Am leaving for Goa tomorrow to spend some time with my grandma there. Will be back by Sunday , I think. God is good and I believe he doesn’t give us more than we can handle . I hope you and I both find peace. Wishing you luck with the changes that you are trying to embrace. Stay blessed.
