Wabi-Sabi

I came across this word in a magazine a few days ago.

Wabi originally referred to the loneliness of living in nature, remote from society; sabi meant “chill”, “lean” or “withered” – Wikipedia

On reading more , I realized wabi-sabi is about finding beauty in what may first seem ugly or decrepit. True , there’s beauty in cracks and crevices , in ruins and rubble , in withered plants and wilted petals….

Thought I’d share the word and a picture to go with it.

— that mishmash
